The 5K is a USATF certified course. Both courses begin and end on Custer Road in front of Custer Road United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas. The 1 mile Family Fun Run/Walk is for everyone. Strollers are welcome but no dogs are allowed on either course.

CHIP TIMING
Chronotrack timing will be used. All prizes will be based on chip time.
5K BAREFOOT RUN
Barefoot runners will be competing in their own category with overall men's and women's winners in the 5K Run. Winners must be truly barefoot or wearing "toe shoes".
FAMILY FESTIVAL
Celebrate this race with a "Taste of Mexico" and breakfast burritos, coffee and other treats. Children will enjoy bounce houses, face painting, crafts and balloon art!
Please bring a donation of new flip flops and deflated soccer balls to share with our neighbors in Mexico.
AWARDS
The first 500 finishers of the 5K run and the first 250 finishers of the 1 mile run/walk will receive a hand painted ceramic medal painted by members of the Case Bugambilia Community.
All registered 1 mile and 5K participants will be entered in a drawing to win either a Samsung 10" Galaxy Tab or a certificate for a pair of award winning Altra running shoes! Winners must be present at the Awards Ceremony beginning at 9:30am.
PARKING
Parking will be available in 3 different lots - directly across from the church; on the SE corner of Custer and Legacy; and at the Plano ISD Alternative School on the NW corner of Custer and Legacy.

The Esperanza 5K Race is in support of the work of Dr. Nancy Rodriguez and Larry Cox at Casa Bugambilia near Matamoros, Mexico. Casa Bugambilia shelters ill and abandoned persons until they can be reunited with their families. It is a center for diabetes prevention and treatment. It provides medical care and physical therapy to people without access to quality health care. Casa Bugambilia advances the education of children through preschool learning readiness classes, tutoring and education enrichment.
